Through an iterative process that begins with our clients we create a conceptual design that gives character, direction, emotion, and structure to a project. These conceptual designs are used to inform future planning, fundraising, and selection of a design team.

Site Development
Master Plan
Utilizing the emotion, ideas, and expressions in the conceptual design we work through all details of a project to create a master plan. This plan is utilized for the creation of construction documents, bidding, and contractor selection.

Our Process
Site Analysis
An opportunity to get to know the site and more importantly the client. We can define size, scope, budget and project character. These items are all brought together in written and graphic form to drive the concept design.
Concept Design
Up until this point all the ideas discussed have been dreams. This is the first opportunity to share our design ideas on paper with the client and be able to review plans, sections, and perspectives of a defined concept for the project. This design sets the tone and character we reference through the remainder of a project.
Working through details and materials is a key step to defining schedule, budget and lead to a successful selection of contractors. Each element of the project is reviewed to understand its relation to the project, material, character, scale, and how it should be built. These drawings clarify much of the design and create a strong base for the construction documents.

Bidding and Construction Observation
Maintenance
Comprehensive measured plans, sections, and details that provide the instructions to the contractors of how to build the project. Along with a set of detailed specifications a full package is prepared for bidding.
As a client representative, drawings can be sent out to bid and contractors selected to complete the work. During each step of the construction we observe to maintain the integrity of the design, ensure competent work and schedules.
We recognize our projects are alive and require continued care to preserve the character and integrity. We prepare a complete maintenance manual for the project to provide the instructions for long term success.
